Rolling Out Digital Business Cards Across a Company — A Practical Guide

— Vivax Business Card

One person switching to a digital card is a convenience. A whole company switching is a brand decision. Here is how a corporate rollout actually works — templates, org control, and keeping every card on-brand.

When a company adopts digital business cards, the problem changes shape. It is no longer "how do I share my details" but "how do fifty people share their details consistently, on-brand, without the marketing team redesigning fifty cards by hand".

Vivax was built with an organization layer for exactly this: shared brand templates, team membership, and org-level administration. This guide walks through what a rollout looks like in practice.

Start with a brand template, not fifty cards

The core of a clean rollout is a brand template: colors, typography accents, layout choices, and logo defined once at the organization level. New team members get a card that is already on-brand from the first minute; nobody improvises their own color scheme.

Templates on Vivax are versioned. When the brand evolves, an org admin updates the template and applies the new version across every member card in one action — the digital equivalent of a reprint, minus the printer, the wait, and the recycling bin.

Who controls what

A rollout fails if either extreme wins. If individuals control everything, the brand fragments; if the company controls everything, cards go stale because employees cannot fix their own details. The working split: the organization owns the visual identity and template, while each member owns their personal facts — name, role, photo, direct contact lines.

Org admin is a membership role on Vivax, separate from personal accounts, so the person managing the team's cards does so with explicit organization-level permissions rather than shared passwords.

Verification and trust

Corporate cards carry the company's name, so recipients should be able to trust them. Vivax supports two-tier organization verification — the organization itself is verified by Vivax staff, and members are confirmed by their own org admins — so a card wearing a verified organization badge actually earned it.

Measuring the rollout

Because every tap and view is an event, the organization can see aggregate engagement across the team — which is how you demonstrate, one quarter later, that the switch was worth it. Individual conversations stay individual; the org view is about totals and trends, not surveillance.
